The Beginning

I can’t believe I’m actually leaving for Africa today.

Despite the Ghanian visa that arrived in the mail, the table full of bug spray and sunscreen, and the five vaccines I got last week…this trip hasn’t truly felt real until now.

This morning, I went for a beautiful 8-mile run along the coast, and as I watched the waves crash onto the shore, I thought about the journey that lies ahead.

I have no idea what challenges and surprises await for the next five weeks, but I’m ready for an adventure!
